A secretary having administrative duties especially an official responsible for administering the activities and business affairs of an organization.
· Provide administrative and clerical support to departments or individuals.
· Schedule meetings and arrange conference rooms.
· Alert manager about cancelations or new meetings.
· Manage travel and schedule.
· Handle information requests.
· Prepare correspondence and stuff mail into envelopes.
Executive secretaries provide a higher-level of administrative support to one or several top executives in an organization, and may supervise the office's clerical staff.
An executive directs, plans, and coordinates operational activities for their organization or company and are normally responsible for devising policies and strategies to meet company goals. Executives often travel to attend meetings and conferences and visit regional, local, national, or international offices.
Entry-level executive secretaries are required to have at least a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate in addition to skills certifications. Some positions prefer a minimum of an associate's degree, and, depending on the industry, some positions may even require a bachelor's degree.
